Chair Yoga: A gentle class of postures and breathing done on a chair- 30 minutes.

Mixed Level Core: Find and strengthen your core. Practice at your own level. - 60 minutes.

Mixed Level Flow: Focus, alignment, balances and breathing are practiced while moving on and off the floor. 60 minutes

Mixed Level Chair: Postures on done in a chair and on the floor. 60 minutes

Relax, Restore, Rejuvenate: Focus on unwinding and relieving stress by quieting the mind and connecting breath with movement. 60 minutes.

Guidelines for Maximum Benefits
Yoga should be practiced on a regular basis. A minimum of three times a week is recommended.Yoga is practiced in bare feet. Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. Yoga mats, straps, and towels are available at The Salon on Grand Yoga, however, you may bring your own. Please let the instructor know if you are pregnant, have high blood pressure, or have any injuries or problems that may affect your yoga practice.Classes start promptly. It is important that you arrive on time, for your own benefit and as a courtesy to your fellow students. First time students please come at least 15 minutes early.At the end of class it is customary to repeat “Namaste”, after the teacher. Namaste means, “I bow to the light within you”.Yoga is to be practiced at your own pace. Do not force your body to do any poses. Be patient and move into your poses with care and precision. Look to improve on your own level, as long as you are in a state of improvement you will get better. Patience is a key you must use for the real benefits of yoga to take place.Beginner Students - It is recommended to consider a private lesson of one hour with an instructor. This will provide you with an opportunity to understand the benefits of yoga, proper technique and the adaptation of poses specifically for you. In addition, it will improve and increase your level of not only yoga but a greater understanding of yourself.

Our Instructors

Yoga Instructor Marta Barnard
Marta is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. She has over 2000 hours of teaching experience as a Yoga Teacher and over 20 years experience as a movement, acting and voice coach. Marta taught a Voice Yoga Class at the 2014 Iowa Yoga Festival in Des Moines. She has taught several Men’s spiritual retreats for recovering addicts. Her approach to teaching Yoga is to help practitioners learn to breathe fully, feel deeply and find their center. Her classes are gentle and filled with humor and practical tips on alignment that can help students release pain both emotional and physical.

Yoga for Back Care, Finding and Releasing the Psoas, Yoga for Voice, Movement Meditations, Chair Yoga and Laughter Yoga are some of Marta’s specialties.

Yoga Instructor Anna Davis
Anna Davis has practiced yoga since 2008. She completed her yoga training at Yoga Okoboji and is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance.
